Larance and Judah

Larance was an African American man enslaved by Captain Samuel Hickcox. His wife was a free Native American named Judah. The couple had one son, named Martin, born in 1748.

Judah died in 1752. In July of that year, her son Martin became the indentured servant of Capt. Hickcox, his freedom promised to be given once he reached the age of 24.
