Cate

Watertown's Rev. John Trumbull, who died in 1787, owned several slaves. One of them was a girl named Cate, whom Trumbull bequeathed to his daughter Lucy Langdon. Langdon lived in Danbury, and Trumbull noted that Cate was already living with the Langdons. The 1790 census does not list any African Americans, free or enslaved, in the Langdon household.
