Fortune owned a "small dwelling house standing on the north side of the highway about 80 rods (a quarter of a mile) eastward of [Preserved] Porter's dwelling house."
If Preserved's house was at the west corner of Mill and East Main Streets (Jesse Porter's home until 1833), then Fortune's house was located roughly where Williams Street is today.
